Enable Master Control Panel in Windows 7 & Vista

Windows 7 has a GodMode which contain options to change almost every settings in Windows 7. It is an advanced control panel which provides access to all the features in one explorer window. In the Windows 7 control panel, features are grouped together either in categories or control panel item names. GodMode enables to get everything listed at one place.
Here’s how to enable it:

1. Create a new folder anywhere you want.
2. Rename it to : GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}
   
3. Hit Enter, the icon will change like to the Control Panel have.

Apple slams Windows 7

Brian Croll, vice president of Apple’s Mac OS X worldwide product marketing, has criticized Microsoft calling it an “Antiquated Technology”. The remarks comes at the same time as the release of  Windows 7, according to Brian Croll

“We think this is an opportune time for people to take a look at a Mac. We believe we can get even more people moving over.

Windows 7 is still just Windows. It doesn’t change a lot. It’s still complex, it’s still really expensive when you look at the cost of the upgrade, and there’s still security concerns

It also still requires a lot of assembly. It turns out when you get Windows 7 it doesn’t even have some of the basic applications

Windows 7 like mail or chat, or programs to manage your photos. You actually have to go and find them and download them.”

Apple has just shown a remarkable growth in its previous quarters revenues, which indirectly can be attributed to the rise of Mac users. Microsoft is pinning a lot of hope on this new operating system, after the highly criticized Windows Vista.  Windows 7 has been appreciated by a lot of reviewers but its still is a Windows system. For people who have used for Windows and Mac the difference is evident, Microsoft has always been subject to criticism, but still it finds its way into billions of computers world wide. For me Apple will have to do more than this to find its way to replace Windows.

Windows 7 vulnerable to Virus ?

Microsoft gives so much hype about the security of Windows 7.

Is Windows 7 really secure?Unfortunately you have to accept the bitter truth,the answer is “no” and the reason is here……………..

SophosLabs  loaded a full release copy of Windows 7 on a clean machine. They configured it to follow the system defaults for User Account Control (UAC) and did not load any anti-virus software.

SophosLabs feeded Windows 7 with the best known malware samples.Unfortunately, despite Microsoft's claims, Windows 7 disappointed just like earlier versions of Windows. The good news is that, of the freshest 10 samples that arrived, 2 would not operate correctly under Windows 7.

So still you need to run anti-virus on Windows 7.  Microsoft Security Intelligence Report  states that "The infection rate of Windows Vista SP1 was 61.9 percent less than that of Windows XP SP3."

Why do I say this? As of October 31st www.netmarketshare.com states that Windows Vista has a 19% market share against Windows XP's 70.5% and Windows 7's 2%. Approximately 1 in 5 Windows users is using either Vista or Windows 7. These users often have newer computers, automatic patching, and firewalls and anti-virus software in place.

With millions of hosts still infected with Conficker, ZBot and Bredo, it is obvious a lot of unprotected machines are still out there, and it is no surprise that most of those are XP.

As the chart above shows, Windows 7 users need not feel left out. They can still participate in the ZBot botnet with a side of fake anti-virus. Windows 7 is no cure for the virus blues, so be sure to bring your protection when you boot up.
