Bing versus Yahoo!

Microsoft’s Bing is the recently launched search engine to compete with Google in the search engine market. 

However,it seems that Microsoft have achieved a great milestone after launching Bing.

According to recent statistics revealed by Statcounter , Microsoft’s Bing overtook Yahoo! Search as the number two search engine in the United States and worldwide on Thursday (4th June)!

StatCounter’s press release confirms that

“………analysis for Thursday finds that in the US Bing leapfrogged Yahoo to take second place on 16.28%. Yahoo! has 10.22%. Google still commands the US search engine market with 71.47%. StatCounter data globally finds that Bing at 5.62% has taken a narrow lead over Yahoo! (5.13%). Google worldwide retains 87.62% of the market”

Google Squared, a new feature just released in Google Labs using which you can find my roller coaster facts almost instantly.

Google Squared is an experimental search tool that collects facts from the web and presents them in an organized collection, similar to a spreadsheet.Google Squared offers as intuitive excel-sheet like user interface which is simple and cool.

Take a look at the query “Microsoft” which gives you:

If you search for “Microsoft”, Google Squared builds a square with rows for each of several specific roller coasters and columns for corresponding facts, such as image, height and maximum speed.

Google Squared is mainly aimed at improving the interactivity with the users and customizing the search results according to the needs.
